FINANCIAL & INSURANCE
Health in Hands Family Chiropractic is dedicated to providing the best possible care and service to you and we regard your complete understanding of your financial responsibilities as an essential element of your care and treatment. In order to reduce any confusion and misunderstanding between our patients and our practice, we have adopted the following financial policy.
Why Don't We Accept Insurance?
-
Patients have asked us why we do not bill insurance directly. While we fully understand the financial challenge this presents to some patients we have chosen not to participate in health insurance networks directly for the following reasons:
-
A participating provider must agree to accept the fees the insurance company establishes, regardless of whether the fees are reasonable or applicable to that practice, especially chiropractic, and acupuncture.
-
In general, these established fees cover only the actual cost of the briefest (and we believe, the lowest quality) careYou can be rest assured that everything done in our time together is because it is what we think is best for the patient.
-
You will always be informed of what procedures will be performed before they occur, and you will be informed of the fees associated with those procedures.
-
You, the patient, are responsible for payment of services rendered at Health in Hands Family Chiropractic and there is no guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you for any procedures and treatment.
-
What if my insurance plan covers a portion of chiropractic care?
If, however, you have purchased insurance that contributes to chiropractic care, we can provide you (upon request) with a “Super-Bill”.
-
The “Superbill” will have all of the necessary codes and information for you to submit to your insurance company for personal reimbursement, depending on your benefits.
-
You assume sole responsibility for requesting and obtaining the “Super-Bill” receipt from us, interacting with your insurance company, and pursuing reimbursement. We do not guarantee reimbursement, although many of our patients do have success.
-
This office will not enter into any dispute with your insurance company. If coverage problems arise, you will be expected to deal directly with your insurance company, adjustor, or agent. Before any radiology testing or lab work is performed, it is the patient’s responsibility to check with their insurance company for a laboratory or facility that is covered under their insurance plan.
-
Do you accept HSA/FSA cards?
-
Yes.
-
You are responsible for payment which is due at the time services are rendered, unless prior arrangements are made before seeing Dr. Courtney. We happily accept tax advantaged accounts (HSA/FSA) as a payment method.
-
-
Do we accept Medicare/Medicaid?
-
No.
-
Health in Hands Family Chiropractic is a cash-practice and does not participate in any health insurance networks and are non-participants of the Medicare program.
